Nagpur’s Crime Branch has arrested three individuals—Wasim Khan, Fakruddin Quereshi, and Abdul Wasim Shaikh—in a major bust at a Sitabuldi hotel (Hanuman Lane, Sitabuldi area). Over Rs31 lakh worth of mephedrone (MD) was seized during the late-night raid under the NDPS Act
Wasim Khan (37) and Fakruddin Quereshi (26), both from Mumbai, and local associate Abdul Wasim Shaikh (34, Hansapuri) were detained.
Police alleged they received the MD consignment from a kingpin known as Siraj.
Seized items included substantial cash and four mobile phones. The operation was led by Senior Inspector Amol Deshmukh, with DCP Rahul Maknikar and ACO Abhijit Patil supervising
In a separate raid by the Anti-Narcotics Cell at Kapil Nagar, Nagpur:
Ankit Ambade, Kashyap Patil, and Asif Malik were arrested with 52 grams of MD valued at approximately Rs2.60 lakh
Ankit Ambade has multiple prior offenses; their associate Kunal Dongre remains at large.
These operations reflect a concerted effort by Nagpur police to dismantle both Mumbai-linked drug modules and local distribution networks.
