Mechanicsburg man charged after stealing items in online sales

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — A Mechanicsburg man, Warren Holloway Jr., 22, has been arrested in connection with multiple thefts involving Facebook Marketplace transactions.

The Upper Allen Township police took Holloway into custody Tuesday and arraigned him on theft charges following an investigation into several reported incidents.

In February 2024, police responded to the 600 block of Cumberland Pointe Circle after a victim reported that Holloway had arranged to buy an item via Facebook Marketplace, took possession of it during a meet-up, and then left without paying.

A similar incident was reported in April, and investigators linked both thefts to Holloway. Police determined that he created the fraudulent Facebook account used to carry out the scams.

Following the issuance of an arrest warrant, Holloway was located in Maryland, arrested, and extradited back to Cumberland County. He is currently awaiting a preliminary hearing.
