Aberdeen Police Chief Brian Chavis announced that a warrant was issued for the arrest of Makayla McGill, 30, of Southern Pines, on charges of felony obtaining property by false pretenses.
The investigation began on November 14 after the Aberdeen Police Department received a report of credit card fraud at McDonald’s. Through a review of video surveillance and witness statements, Aberdeen Patrol Officers identified McGill as the suspect. She is accused of executing a fraudulent transaction, resulting in property being obtained under false pretenses.
On November 16, McGill was apprehended by the Southern Pines Police Department in connection with the outstanding warrant and additional charges. She was placed at the Moore County Detention Center with a $6,000 secured bond.
