Police in Bhanjanagar, Ganjam district, arrested three individuals on Tuesday, including one who was wanted by Chennai police for his involvement in several criminal cases. Authorities also seized two country-made single-shot guns along with four rounds of ammunition from the arrested trio.

The accused were identified as D. Muna Rao (24) from Bhanjanagar, Tofan Bhuyan alias Santosh (28), and Chinu Patra (24) from Lalsingh. According to the police, Tofan Bhuyan alias Santosh had a history of involvement in multiple criminal cases in Chennai and was on the run, while Muna Rao was wanted in connection with a theft case in Bhanjanagar.

The arrests followed a tip-off regarding Muna Rao’s presence in Bhanjanagar. A police team swiftly responded to the hideout, where they apprehended the three men. However, one accomplice managed to escape after spotting the police, as reported by IIC Jeevananand Jena of the Bhanjanagar police station.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are searching for the fourth individual who managed to flee. Authorities are also probing the criminal background of the arrested men and their possible connections to other crimes in the region.
