In a swift and effective operation, the West District Police team from Moti Nagar solved a major theft case within 48 hours, recovering nearly the entire stolen amount of Rs35 lakh.
The accused, Vivek Raj alias Sahil (23), who worked as an accountant at the victim company, was arrested from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. Police recovered Rs34,98,550 in stolen cash from his possession.
According to a press release issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police Vichitra Veer, the incident was reported on May 24, when a call alerted Police Station Moti Nagar about a theft at the Dynamic Forge Company’s office located in Magnum House-2, Karampura.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Vivek, leveraging his access to the office as an employee, committed the theft and fled to Uttar Pradesh. The police team tracked him down through technical surveillance and field intelligence.
The recovery and arrest were made possible due to coordinated efforts between Delhi and UP police, highlighting the quick response and investigative efficiency of the Delhi Police.
Vivek Raj has been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway to confirm if any accomplices were involved.
