The Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police apprehended two men suspected of carrying out a house burglary in Sector 19. The arrested suspects are identified as Vivek Bhatt (35), residing in Sector 23D, and Ankit Chander (35) from Sector 22C.
Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested Bhatt near the Sector 11 underpass. Authorities recovered a necklace, nine blank SBI cheques belonging to the complainant, and a car allegedly used during the crime from him.
Chander was caught near the Rally Ground in Sector 25, where police seized another necklace, a silver bangle, and 16 blank cheques.
Further investigations revealed that Chander is a repeat offender with six prior cases related to house theft, vehicle theft, and snatching registered against him in Chandigarh. Both suspects have been taken into custody for further proceedings.
