Pune’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) arrested Vishwajeet Vinayak Jadhav, the 41-year-old son-in-law of the late Jagannath Shetty, founder of the famous Vaishali restaurant, on charges of fraud. Jadhav is accused of conspiring with a manager from a private bank and a direct sales agent to carry out a loan fraud amounting to Rs4.97 crore by forging the signatures of his estranged wife, Nikita Jagannath Shetty, on loan documents.

The alleged fraud took place between December 7, 2022, and the present day. Nikita Shetty filed a complaint against Jadhav and the other two suspects on October 3, 2023, with the Deccan Gymkhana police. Following a thorough investigation and verification of the complaint, the police arrested Jadhav, marking a significant step in resolving the case.
