CLINTON, Md. — Marco Williams, 46, of Alexandria, Virginia, is facing attempted first-degree murder and several other charges following a reported road rage shooting on April 3, 2025, in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Williams was arrested yesterday in Fairfax County by the United States Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force and the Maryland State Apprehension Team. He is currently awaiting extradition to Maryland.

The victim, who has not been identified, was uninjured during the incident. According to Maryland State Police, on April 3, troopers from the Forestville Barrack responded to reports of a shooting on Route 5 near Burch Hill Road. The victim told police that the driver of a black 2023 Ford Explorer with Michigan plates—later identified as Williams—fired a handgun at his vehicle.

In the course of their investigation, law enforcement officials executed authorized search warrants on Williams’ apartment and his vehicle. During the operation, police discovered two loaded firearms and a large quantity of narcotics. Maryland State Police, with assistance from the Fairfax County Police Department and the Virginia State Police, are continuing their investigation.

The Maryland Department of State Police remains committed to addressing highway violence and ensuring the safety of Maryland’s communities. Investigations are ongoing into other recent highway-related crimes, including the murders of Delonte Hicks, Charles Marks, and Nyah Hairston.
