In a continued crackdown on drug-related crimes, Belagavi city police have arrested nine individuals involved in the consumption and sale of narcotics over the past two days. The total value of the drugs seized is estimated at Rs1.1 lakh.
List of Accused and Arrest Details:
Vinut Konnur – Arrested by Marihal police near Mutaga village while selling ganja.
Suraj Hindalgekar – Arrested along with Konnur; 1.3 kg of ganja and narcotics worth Rs55,000 were recovered.
Harsha Verma – Arrested near Sardar High School Ground by Khadebazar police; caught with ganja.
Prajwal Navagekar – Arrested alongside Harsha Verma; involved in sale of ganja.
Utkarsh Verma – Also arrested with the above duo; total ganja seized in this case: 1.1 kg worth Rs24,000.
Harshal Gurav – Nabbed by Market police near the old Bhaji Market; caught with 302 grams of ganja worth Rs3,000.
Darshan Gawade – Found behaving abnormally near Belagavi Central Bus Stand. Medical tests confirmed ganja consumption; a case was registered.
& 9. Names not disclosed in the remaining minor drug-related cases.
All nine have been booked under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is ongoing.
