A 15-year-old boy was allegedly stabbed to death in Sultan Puri late on January 1, police said. The incident occurred in C Block, where a group of youths reportedly attacked the minor.
Police received the information at PS Sultan Puri around 11:30 pm and rushed to the scene, finding the boy with stab wounds. He was immediately taken to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial (SGM) Hospital, Mangol Puri, where he was declared brought dead.
The main accused, identified as Vikram alias Vicky alias Kapad (30), a Sultan Puri resident, was apprehended promptly. Police said Vikram has six previous criminal convictions, and the knife used in the crime was recovered from him.
During interrogation, Vikram allegedly confessed that he committed the crime along with two associates, who are still at large. A case has been registered under the relevant sections of law, and police continue their investigation.
In a related development, the Crime Branch WR-II team recently busted a bank loan fraud gang, arresting three individuals: Atul Agarwal, Ajay Chaurasia, and Deepak Dhoundiyal. The accused had allegedly posed as government employees, forged identity cards, and fake income documents to obtain loans fraudulently from multiple banks.
