In a significant operation, Vigilance officers arrested S Partha Sarathi Bisoi, an accountant-cum-data entry operator at Batasana Gram Panchayat in Kotpad block, for allegedly amassing disproportionate assets far exceeding his known sources of income.
The arrest came after simultaneous searches were conducted by vigilance teams at seven locations linked to Bisoi on Thursday. P K Dwivedi, the vigilance SP of Jeypore, revealed that Bisoi possessed assets amounting to a staggering 300% more than his declared income.
The searches led to the discovery of extensive properties, including 16 plots in various locations and two residential buildings: a 4,500 sq ft triple-storey house at Pailo Sahi, Borigumma, and a 2,400 sq ft structure in Champia village. Additionally, officials uncovered a cashew processing unit covering an area of 8,561 sq ft at Champia.
Further assets seized include Rs 2,45,000 in cash, gold jewellery weighing 285 grams, and 706 grams of silver. Bisoi’s ownership also extended to multiple vehicles, including three tractors, an SUV, three two-wheelers, and industrial machinery such as concrete mixture machines and paddy threshers.
Bisoi was presented before the special vigilance court in Jeypore after the raid, and the investigation continues.
