Victoria Wells, a 30-year-old woman from Anderson, South Carolina, who was previously reported missing along with her two children from Carteret County, is now facing child abuse charges.
Authorities located Wells and the children on Tuesday, August 12, in a suspicious vehicle on Up Creek Road in Cove City. The Craven County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, and the Department of Social Services was notified.
After conducting multiple interviews, the children’s father traveled from South Carolina and assumed custody.
Following the investigation, Wells was charged with two counts of child abuse. She is currently being held at the Craven County Confinement Facility under a $10,000 secured bond.
