MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. (WAFF) – A multi-agency drug investigation led to the dismantling of a major meth trafficking organization with alleged ties to Mexico, Atlanta, Chicago, and other regions in the U.S.

On Thursday, law enforcement officers executed search warrants at a hotel near Beltline Road and 6th Avenue in Decatur, identified as a site used for narcotics transactions.

During the search, officers seized approximately 24.7 pounds of methamphetamine, with an estimated street value exceeding $1.1 million.

Four individuals were arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine:

Victor Hernandez, 36, of Austell, Georgia

Miguel Aguirre, 28, of Chicago, Illinois

Nicanor Garcia Garcia, 53, of Chicago, Illinois

Priscila Karime Narzagaray, 37, of Atlanta, Georgia

Garcia was additionally charged with resisting arrest.

Authorities say the suspects were actively working on behalf of a transnational drug organization, smuggling and distributing meth across North Alabama.

All four are currently being held at the Morgan County Jail on $750,000 bond each. Three of the suspects are also being detained on ICE holds pending immigration-related action.

Officials emphasized this bust as a significant blow to a wider drug network operating throughout the southeastern United States.
