SANTA MARIA, CA — A routine traffic stop on Sunday evening led to a significant drug bust and arrest, according to the Santa Maria Police Department.
At approximately 6:30 p.m., officers pulled over a vehicle near Smith and Morrison Streets for a traffic violation. The driver was identified as Victor Ricardo Garza Pulido, 28, of Santa Maria.
During the stop, police discovered that Garza Pulido had an outstanding arrest warrant. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered approximately 2 pounds of methamphetamine and around 1.5 ounces of fentanyl.
Garza Pulido was taken into custody and booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail on charges related to the transportation and sale of narcotics. He remains in custody at this time.
