In a significant operation, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Banswara unit apprehended Village Development Officer (VDO) Prabhulal Pargi for accepting a bribe of Rs16,000. The bribe was demanded to process a salary bill for a security guard who had been deprived of his wages for five months.
The incident unfolded when the complainant, the son of a security guard at Atal Seva Kendra in Bhapor, reported the issue to the ACB. Despite his father working diligently, the security guard had not received his salary for several months. When the complainant sought the processing of the pending salary bill, Prabhulal Pargi demanded a bribe of Rs25,000 in exchange for clearing the payment.
Struggling with financial difficulties and experiencing undue harassment, the complainant decided to approach the Anti-Corruption Bureau for help. Following the verification of the complaint, the ACB set up a trap operation. During the operation, Pargi was caught accepting Rs16,000 in bribe money, securing crucial evidence of his corrupt practices.
This arrest highlights the ongoing efforts of the Anti-Corruption Bureau to combat bribery and ensure that public officials are held accountable for their actions. Pargi’s arrest is expected to deter similar incidents and reinforce the need for transparent and ethical conduct in public service.
