In a disturbing incident from Ambede village in Nagargaon, Goa, 24-year-old Shravan Devidas Barve was found dead near a local Hanuman temple. The Valpoi Police have arrested a suspect, Vasudev Ozekar, in connection with the murder.
Barve’s body was discovered earlier this week under suspicious circumstances. Though initially suspected to be an accidental death, an autopsy later confirmed that the cause was asphyxiation, ruling out natural causes and prompting a murder investigation.
The police identified Vasudev Ozekar, a resident of the same locality, as a prime suspect based on preliminary evidence linking him to the crime scene. Investigators believe a personal dispute or existing enmity may have led to the alleged murder, though the exact motive remains under review.
Barve’s grieving family insists he was lured to the location and killed deliberately. “Shravan was not someone who invited conflict. This was premeditated,” a family member said.
Police have urged anyone with further information to assist in the ongoing investigation. Ozekar remains in custody, and officials anticipate more developments in the coming days.
