Varthur-Bellandur Mobile Theft Divas Kami & Team Arrested

39 Phones, Gold, and Camera Recovered by Police

Three individuals, including a woman, were arrested by police in connection with mobile phone thefts from two stores in Varthur and Bellandur. Authorities recovered 39 mobile phones, a camera, a digital watch, and 8 grams of gold, altogether valued at Rs 40.5 lakh.

The arrested individuals are:

Divas Kami (22) – native of Namchi, Sikkim

Aron Thapa (28) – native of Namchi, Sikkim

Asmita (26) – native of Nepal

Both Kami and Thapa are habitual offenders and had been arrested previously.

Investigations revealed that Kami and Thapa carried out the burglaries while Asmita helped in disposing of the stolen mobile phones. On the night of October 20, the duo stole 29 mobile phones from a Croma outlet on Varthur-Gunjur Main Road, along with a digital watch, a camera, and Rs 2 lakh in cash. The store manager promptly filed a complaint with Varthur police, leading to the arrests.

Police are continuing investigations to trace any additional stolen items and accomplices involved in the theft ring.
