Two individuals from Uttar Pradesh have been arrested by the Kankanady Town Police in connection with the theft of Rs10.2 lakh from a grocery store located in Capitanio, Mangaluru. The theft took place on the night between July 8 and July 9.
The accused, identified as Mohammed Nazeer Howsil Khan (27) and Ilyas Khan (22), are both residents of Barakatti Mahar in Shravasthi district, Uttar Pradesh. According to Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal, the duo had recently traveled to Mangaluru by train, hoping to find employment after hearing about the city’s wealth.
The police were able to track down the suspects and make the arrest after investigating the crime scene and gathering information. Further inquiries are ongoing as they continue to investigate the suspects’ activities in the region.
