Two Union County residents are facing multiple charges, including theft and conspiracy to commit theft, after allegedly stealing more than $250,000 from an acquaintance over the course of two years.
Crystal Williams and Damien Hall, both of the Elizabeth/Newark area, were arrested and charged with a combined total of 30 criminal counts. The charges include second-degree conspiracy to commit theft, second-degree theft, and several third and fourth-degree counts of criminal impersonation and forgery.
An investigation led by the Union County Prosecutor’s Office Special Unit, under Detective Dr. Grant Mayes, uncovered that between 2022 and 2024, Williams and Hall had been systematically stealing large sums of money from their victim. The total amount stolen exceeded $250,000.
Williams and Hall were arrested on Tuesday, March 4, and processed by authorities. They are facing serious charges and could face significant penalties if convicted.
The investigation is ongoing, with authorities continuing to review evidence and pursue further leads in the case.
