Ulster Man Joseph C. Brink Sentenced to Probation for Scam

Brink must pay restitution after contracting fraud conviction

by Sophia Bennett

ULSTER, Pa. (WETM) – Joseph C. Brink, a 37-year-old man from Ulster, has been sentenced to 48 months of probation after being found guilty of stealing money through a contracting scam.

Brink’s sentence also includes paying restitution to the victims, which amounts to “the tens of thousands of dollars,” according to the Bradford County District Attorney’s Office.

The charges against Brink stem from two separate cases brought by the Pennsylvania State Police and the Towanda Police Department. Brink was found to have posed as a contractor, accepting money from local residents for a deck construction and barn work that he never completed.

Under court supervision, Brink will continue to work to pay off the restitution. However, if he fails to meet the terms of his probation, including paying restitution or committing new crimes, his probation could be revoked, and he may face a more severe sentence.
