Ullal Police Arrest Abdul Rawoof Gang in MDMA Bust

Three held at Talapady border with drugs worth Rs2 lakh

In a crackdown at the Kerala–Karnataka border, Ullal police arrested three individuals at Talapady for allegedly selling MDMA, seizing 42 grams of the drug valued at Rs2 lakh.

The arrested have been identified as Abdul Rawoof (30) of Kolangere, Talapady, Sharif alias Amin (34) of Chembugudde, near Thokkottu, and Niyaz (24) of Sankesh House, Kinya village, who had reportedly come to purchase the drugs. Another accused, Salaam of Bengre, Panambur, managed to escape.

The operation was conducted near Tachchani, close to Talapady, on Monday. During the raid, police also seized a Toyota Glanza car, three mobile phones, Rs2,500 cash, a weighing scale, and zip-lock covers used for packaging the drugs.

A case has been registered under the NDPS Act, 1985 at the Ullal Police Station, and further investigation is underway to trace the escapee and uncover the gang’s wider network.
