June 25, 2025 — A United Kingdom diplomatic official, Roberto Francesco Mirto, 42, was arrested in downtown Nashville on June 22, facing multiple charges including child endangerment and aggravated assault of a police officer.
Police responded to reports of an intoxicated man near 4th Avenue North and Broadway and discovered Mirto in an aggressive state, accompanied by his three children aged 3, 7, and 10.
As officers attempted to intervene, Mirto reportedly resisted arrest and bit one of the officers on the forearm. He also allegedly made offensive remarks targeting officers’ nationalities and religions. Due to the bite, he was taken to General Hospital for a blood draw before being cleared and booked into the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office.
Metro Nashville Police ensured the safety and care of the children following the arrest. Mirto is facing several charges, including aggravated assault on an officer, child endangerment, and resisting arrest. The case remains under investigation.
