The Ajekar police in Udupi district arrested a 29-year-old man for chain snatching in Yellare village of Karkala taluk on September 9. The accused has been identified as Ramesh Lamani, a resident of Savadatti taluk in Belagavi district.
Authorities recovered a gold chain worth Rs1.75 lakh from the accused. The police have taken the suspect into custody and further investigations are underway.
