In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Udupi district police have arrested two individuals for their alleged involvement in the continuous sale of narcotic substances.
Krishna Achari (43) from Kolalagiri and Abdul Jabtar (27) from Kelarkalabettu were taken into custody and charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Both have been remanded to judicial custody at Dharwad Central Prison.
The arrests followed a prolonged surveillance operation by the district police, who had been monitoring the accused’s activities for some time. Police sources confirmed that the duo was engaged in distributing narcotic substances across various parts of Udupi district.
Investigations are ongoing as authorities continue their efforts to curb drug trafficking in the region.
