Uday Kumar, a senior General Manager (GM) at Power Grid Corporation of India, was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs2.5 lakh from an executive at KEC International, a Mumbai-based company. The incident reportedly took place in Sikar, Rajasthan, where Kumar and Suman Singh from KEC International had arranged to meet for the exchange of the bribe.
Kumar, who is stationed in Ajmer, was apprehended on Thursday alongside Suman Singh. The CBI’s investigation has led to an FIR naming five individuals, including KEC International and its vice-president and North India head, Jabraj Singh, as part of the accused.
KEC International has yet to issue a statement regarding the charges. The CBI continues its investigation into the matter.
