Udaipur police arrested two members of an inter-district robbery and burglary gang that specifically targeted elderly people and solitary women. The suspects, Prakash Meena (28) and Laxman Meena (25), both residents of Salumber, were apprehended on Monday. They are accused of committing a series of robberies and burglaries across Udaipur, Rajsamand, Salumber, and neighboring districts.
During their interrogation, the arrested duo confessed to being involved in 17 robbery and burglary incidents. According to the police, the gang typically selected isolated paths to identify vulnerable locations, often working as laborers or vendors to blend in and scope out potential targets.
Their arrest is a significant breakthrough in dismantling the gang that had been causing a series of crimes across the region. The police are continuing to investigate whether there are more members involved in similar activities.
