CINCINNATI — Two University of Cincinnati students were arrested last week after allegedly breaking into Fifth Third Arena and stealing alcohol from a bar area inside the facility, according to court documents.

Police said 19-year-old students Brom Schindler and Owen Singer are accused of entering the arena on January 24 without authorization. Once inside, investigators said the pair went to the third level of the arena, where they located coolers containing beer and liquor.

According to the report, both students allegedly removed multiple alcoholic beverages, concealing them in their pockets and bookbags before leaving the building.

Campus police were able to track Schindler’s movements through surveillance cameras as he returned to his dorm room in Turner Hall. Officers later confronted him in his residence and reportedly recovered the stolen alcohol from his jacket and bag.

During the encounter, Schindler allegedly admitted to the theft and identified Singer as his accomplice. Police later located Singer at his dorm in Stratford Heights, where he also reportedly confessed to stealing the alcohol.

Both students were arrested last Tuesday and charged with breaking and entering. Court records show they are scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.
