A New Jersey man, Tyrelle Clarke, was arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase and assaulting officers during an attempt to steal vehicles in Sicklerville on February 23, 2025. Clarke, 28, was reportedly involved in an early-morning car break-in attempt using a high-tech device that allows the user to reprogram vehicles.
At approximately 5:30 a.m., Winslow Township police were called to Hewitt Lane in Sicklerville after reports of three men trying to break into a vehicle, one of whom was armed with a rifle. Upon arrival, officers spotted a black Infiniti Q50 speeding out of the Hampton Gate development, with another vehicle, believed to be acting as a lookout, also fleeing the scene.
When police attempted to stop the Infiniti, the driver, later identified as Clarke, sped off, triggering a short pursuit on the Atlantic City Expressway. Clarke exited at Cross Keys Road, heading back toward Sicklerville Road, before attempting to flee the car on foot. During the pursuit, Clarke attacked the officers, but he was ultimately apprehended.
Upon his arrest, police found Clarke in possession of a motor vehicle computer programmer, a device capable of reprogramming a generic master key to steal vehicles. Clarke is facing charges of stolen vehicle possession, resisting arrest, and aggravated assault on law enforcement. He is currently being held at Camden County Jail.
