Police have arrested and charged two individuals in connection with the theft of an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) that was stolen from a residence in Espanola, Ontario.
On the morning of Wednesday, May 7, at around 8 a.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a break and enter, during which an ATV was stolen. Later that day, officers located the stolen vehicle at a different address in Espanola and were able to return it to its rightful owner.
As a result of the investigation, two people were arrested. Tyler Gaudreau, a 42-year-old man from Espanola, was charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. Cecile Trottier, a 32-year-old woman from Espanola, also faces the same charge.
Both individuals appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court on May 8, where they faced the charges. The case remains under investigation as part of ongoing efforts to combat property crime in the region.
