Two Women Arrested in Rs 10 Lakh Jewelry Theft at Kashmere Gate Metro Station

Stolen gold jewelry recovered, both accused are history-sheeters.

Delhi Police have successfully arrested two women in connection with a jewelry theft worth Rs 10 lakh that took place at the Kashmere Gate Metro Station. The stolen gold jewelry has been recovered from the accused.

On November 19, 2024, Sanju Kumari, a resident of Noida, Uttar Pradesh, arrived at New Delhi Railway Station from Siwan, Bihar. While she was heading into the metro station around 10 am, a woman pushed and shoved her. Afterward, Kumari realized that her bag had been unzipped and the jewelry, which was wrapped in a handkerchief, was missing.

Following her complaint, the police registered an FIR at Kashmere Gate Metro Police Station and began an investigation. Based on Kumari’s description, the police questioned a suspect, who admitted to the crime. She further revealed that her accomplice, identified as Anjali alias Anju, had possession of the stolen jewelry.

The police arrested Anju from Gujarat, and during questioning, she also confessed to her involvement in the theft. As a result, the police were able to recover the stolen gold jewelry.

Both of the accused women have a history of criminal activities, according to the police. The investigation is ongoing.
