Two Target Employees Arrested for $5,900 Apple Product Theft

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, NY – Two employees of the Target Distribution Center in the Town of Florida have been arrested and charged with grand larceny after authorities say they stole over $5,900 worth of Apple products.

According to Montgomery County Sheriff Jeffery T. Smith, an investigation revealed that Joshua E. Khan, 25, of Amsterdam, and Gajendra Muthusami, 25, of Schenectady, systematically removed Apple products from packages meant for retail distribution.

Month-Long Theft Scheme
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Unit, working with Target Asset Protection, monitored the employees over a month-long period before confirming their involvement in the thefts. The total value of stolen merchandise was estimated at $5,916.87.

Arrests and Charges
On March 21, 2025, both Khan and Muthusami were arrested and charged with grand larceny and conspiracy.

Authorities emphasize the importance of corporate security measures in preventing internal theft and ensuring that stolen goods do not reach illegal markets.
