Two men have been sentenced to 25 years in prison in separate Washoe County drug‑trafficking cases involving large methamphetamine, heroin, and fentanyl seizures, authorities said. Both will be eligible for parole after 10 years.

Pablo Doval-Avalos, 30, pleaded guilty to trafficking a controlled substance involving 400 grams or more. His case followed a yearlong investigation that began in 2023. During a traffic stop on Sept. 30, 2024, deputies seized about 6 pounds of methamphetamine, 4 ounces of heroin, and 300 fentanyl pills. A subsequent search of a residence uncovered approximately 50 additional pounds of methamphetamine, along with more heroin and fentanyl. Judge Egan Walker imposed Doval-Avalos’ sentence.

In a separate case, Efrain Salazar‑Gurrola was convicted by a jury of trafficking a controlled substance following a traffic stop in September 2022, during which deputies found more than 2 pounds of methamphetamine in his vehicle. Judge Barry Breslow imposed his sentence.
