A routine traffic stop in Rutland, Vermont, led to the arrest of two men on drug possession and outstanding warrant charges, Vermont State Police reported.

On March 11, 2025, at around 5:27 p.m., Vermont State Police Troopers stopped a vehicle on Woodstock Avenue after observing a motor vehicle violation. The driver was identified as 29-year-old Devin Mcleod of Rutland, and the passenger as 46-year-old Randy Duprey, also from Rutland.

Upon observing signs of drug use, the officers called in Rutland Town Police Officer Plakas and his K-9 unit for assistance. A search of the vehicle’s exterior was conducted, and authorities seized the vehicle pending a search warrant. Both Mcleod and Duprey consented to a search of their persons, which resulted in the discovery of suspected cocaine on Mcleod.

Further investigation revealed that Duprey had an active arrest warrant.
