Delhi Police have arrested two men involved in a sophisticated ATM fraud operation in South West Delhi, where cash-dispensing shutters were jammed using metallic clips, trapping money inside. The arrests were carried out by the Kishangarh police team.

Both suspects have been identified as Salman. Authorities recovered 1 country-made pistol, 2 live cartridges, Rs 12,700 in cash, 4 ATM jamming devices, and a screwdriver allegedly used to tamper with ATM shutters.

According to DCP (South West) Amit Goel, on January 1, patrolling officers noticed a man roaming in the Kishangarh area. When the police attempted to approach, the suspect tried to flee but was apprehended. A search revealed a country-made pistol in his possession.

During questioning, the man admitted his involvement in multiple ATM fraud incidents and disclosed the identity of his associate, who allegedly supplied him with the illegal firearm. Acting on this information, police arrested the co-accused and recovered 2 live cartridges from him.

Investigators explained that the fraud involved jamming ATM cash-dispensing shutters. When customers tried to withdraw money, their accounts were debited, but the cash remained trapped inside the machines. Police are continuing investigations to identify any further links to the operation.
