Two men were arrested Friday morning following a burglary at a location on Kentucky 339 West, near Wingo in Graves County.

The Graves County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a residence with outbuildings. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a pickup truck parked near an unoccupied home, and one of the suspects, 37-year-old Andrew F. Dailey of Union City, TN, claimed he was alone at the scene.

However, deputies soon found another man, 55-year-old David C. Carter of Wingo, attempting to hide inside an outbuilding. Carter was holding an axe and flashlight when found, and after being ordered to drop the axe, he was taken into custody.

Further investigation revealed that Dailey and Carter had broken into the outbuilding and were in the process of stealing items when they were interrupted by law enforcement. Both men were arrested and taken to out-of-county detention facilities.

The investigation into the burglary is still ongoing.
