Two men are facing multiple charges following their arrest in Homewood on Thursday.

According to the Homewood Police Department, officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the 200 Block of Robert Jemison Road, believing it was occupied by a suspect with multiple outstanding arrest warrants. When the driver refused to stop, a pursuit ensued. The chase continued until officers deployed spike strips, and the vehicle was eventually stopped on 27th Street North near 22nd Ave. North in Birmingham.

Both the driver and the passenger were arrested. Officers discovered 10 handguns in the vehicle, three of which were stolen. They also found narcotics at the scene.

Further investigation linked the suspects to 18 vehicle thefts in Moody, Alabama, that occurred on December 18.

The arrested individuals were identified as 36-year-old Paul Gilbert Hinkle and 24-year-old Rashad Rodrekus Taylor. Both were charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and second-degree receiving stolen property. Hinkle was additionally charged with felony attempting to elude police.

Both men were also wanted for probation violation warrants.
