Auburn Police Seize Meth, Crack, and Fentanyl in Hotel Drug Raid

AUBURN, Maine (WGME) — Two Maine residents are facing drug trafficking charges after police raided a hotel in Auburn early Thursday and uncovered a large stash of illegal drugs.

The raid took place at the Center Street Value Inn, following an investigation into ongoing drug activity at the location. According to law enforcement, officers discovered methamphetamine, crack cocaine, fentanyl, over 600 oxycodone pills, digital scales, packaging materials, and more than $2,000 in suspected drug proceeds.

The suspects, identified as 51-year-old Mark Buiniskas of Lisbon and 35-year-old Shannon Morrison of Lewiston, were charged with unlawful possession and trafficking of scheduled W drugs.

In addition to the new charges, Buiniskas had an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court in a previous drug possession case. He is currently being held without bail at Androscoggin County Jail. Authorities have not confirmed whether Morrison was taken into custody.

Police say the bust is part of a broader effort to curb drug-related crime in the Auburn area.
