In a major breakthrough, Kerala police arrested Karuppayya and Nagaraju, two members of the infamous ‘Kuruva thieves’ gang, in Rajakumari, a town located in Kerala’s hill district. Their arrests were linked to a series of thefts that took place in Alappuzha and Ernakulam districts in November last year.

The police investigation revealed that although Karuppayya and Nagaraju had no prior criminal involvement in Kerala, they had been hiding in Rajakumari after being booked by Tamil Nadu police for their role in several criminal activities. The Kuruva thieves, a gang from Tamil Nadu, are notorious for their violent methods, including murder if met with resistance during their thefts. Their specialty is in organized theft, and they have been active in multiple regions.

The suspects will be handed over to the Nagercoil Police in Tamil Nadu for further legal proceedings. Police officials confirmed that after their arrest, the two individuals are expected to face charges related to past crimes in Tamil Nadu.
