Chennai police arrested three individuals, including two juveniles, in connection with multiple bike thefts in the Triplicane and Royapettah areas.
Rakesh, a software engineer living in Chepauk, reported his expensive bike missing on the morning of August 27 after parking it outside his home on August 26. Based on CCTV footage, Triplicane Police apprehended two 17-year-old suspects and recovered four high-end stolen bikes. The juveniles have been sent to the Government Observation Home in Kellys.
Separately, Anand, a 23-year-old with a criminal history from Royapettah, was arrested for stealing a two-wheeler in Pudupet Garden Street back in April. After hiding the vehicle, Anand was caught by Teynampet Police during another criminal case. Despite being released on bail, he was re-arrested while attempting to sell the stolen bike.
Police continue their efforts to crack down on bike theft rings across the city.
