In a major breakthrough against international drug trafficking, Rajasthan Police arrested two foreign nationals on Thursday in Jaipur with 116 grams of cocaine valued at over Rs1 crore. The arrests took place in the Pratap Nagar area of Jaipur, as part of Operation Clean Sweep, an ongoing crackdown on illegal drugs in the city.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Michael from South Africa and Emmanuel from Nigeria. In addition to the drugs, police recovered 11 mobile phones, a laptop, a motorcycle, and Rs45,000 in cash from their possession.

The action was carried out by the District Special East Team, and the duo had been renting an apartment in the Pratap Nagar area for the past eight months. The police received intelligence inputs about their involvement in cocaine smuggling, leading to a successful raid on their apartment.

According to DCP East Kavendra Singh Sagar, the accused had been supplying cocaine to college students and nearby hotels in Jaipur. They were using their rented apartment as a base for their operations. The police have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Pratap Nagar police station.

During the raid, the authorities found a significant amount of cocaine, along with digital devices and cash, pointing to the organized nature of their smuggling operation. The police revealed that Michael’s visa had also expired, adding to the legal complications for the arrested suspects.

Both Michael and Emmanuel have been presented in court and remanded for further investigation. Authorities are working to trace the full extent of their drug supply network and potential accomplices.

This arrest is a part of the Rajasthan Police’s intensified efforts to curb illegal drug trafficking and reduce the influence of narcotics on youth and college students in the state.
