Two Drug Smugglers Arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Sultanpur, Smack Seized

Abhishek Singh and Ashok Held with 252 Grams of Smack Worth Rs 25 Lakh

In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Uttar Pradesh Police arrested two smugglers, Abhishek Singh (20) and Ashok (40), in Sultanpur on Sunday. The police seized 252 grams of smack, valued at around Rs 25 lakh in the international market, from their possession.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Kudwar Anupam Singh as part of a special drive against narcotics. The accused were apprehended near a primary school in Bansi village, where they were found in possession of the illegal substance.

A case has been registered against the two under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, specifically under sections 8/21. Kudwar Station House Officer Chandrabhan Verma confirmed the arrest and said the investigation is ongoing.

This operation underscores the authorities’ continued efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
