In a successful operation, a police team from Naharlagun, led by Officer-in-Charge Krishnendu Dev and supervised by SDPO Rishi Longdo, apprehended two drug peddlers at Nyigam Colony, Itanagar on Friday. The raid led to the recovery of 12.5 grams of heroin, marking a significant success in the fight against drug trafficking in the region.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Hage Opo (24) and Mom Riche Dorjee (19), as confirmed by Naharlagun SP Mihin Gambo. The operation also resulted in the seizure of 10 vials of heroin, 51 Nitcor-10 tablets (containing Nitrazepam 10mg), a used syringe, and three pistol-shaped lighters with concealed knives.
The raid was conducted in the presence of Executive Magistrate Khoda Bath. Following the arrests, a case has been registered, and the police have vowed to continue taking strict action against drug trafficking in the Itanagar capital region. SP Mihin Gambo also urged the public to assist by providing credible information on drug-related activities.
This operation is a part of the ongoing efforts by local authorities to combat the growing drug problem and ensure a safer community for all.
