Two Drug Peddlers Arrested in Awantipora and Sopore with Contraband

Police recover cannabis, psychotropic substances, and cash from drug peddlers.

Police have arrested two drug peddlers in separate operations in Awantipora and Sopore, recovering contraband, psychotropic substances, and cash from their possession.

In Awantipora, police apprehended Towseef Ahmad Mir, son of Mohammad Yousuf Mir, a resident of Brawbandina, after they found 1.240 kg of cannabis-like substance shaped like sticks in his possession.

Meanwhile, in Sopore at Tri-Junction Vuhlutra-Shutloo Panzalla, Basharat Ahmad Beigh, son of Mohammad Afzal Beigh from Badam Bagh, was arrested after 312 tablets of SpasmoProxyvon Plus and Rs10,000 in cash were recovered from him.

Cases under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act have been filed at the respective police stations, and investigations are underway.
