Two Capital Region Men Arrested on Drug Charges in Clinton

James Brown and Jyquez Grant face felony drug possession charges after traffic stop

Clinton, NY — Two men from the Capital Region were arrested Thursday following a traffic stop on the Taconic State Parkway in the Town of Clinton.

On May 1, State Police stopped a 2022 BMW sedan for violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law. The driver, 43-year-old James E. Brown of Rensselaer, and front-seat passenger, 23-year-old Jyquez K. Grant of Voorheesville, were found to be in possession of approximately 1,176.4 grams of cocaine.

Both men were arrested and charged with:

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 1st Degree (Class A-I felony)

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree (Class B felony)

Brown and Grant were arraigned in the Town of Pleasant Valley Court and remanded to Dutchess County Jail without bail.
