In a shocking case of employer-employee conflict turned deadly, the Museum police in Thiruvananthapuram have arrested two men—Rajesh, a native of Adimalathura, and David, a Nepalese national—for the murder of hotel owner Justin Raj on Tuesday.
According to police sources, the duo confessed to the crime, stating they killed Justin Raj after he terminated their employment due to frequent absenteeism. Justin, who co-owned a hotel in Vazhuthacaud, had reportedly employed eight workers, including the accused.
The businessman’s body was discovered in a rented house in Edapazhinji, where the accused had been residing. Initial investigations revealed that the murder was a revenge attack.
Background:
Justin Raj had taken disciplinary action against Rajesh and David for their lack of commitment at work, eventually firing them. Police say the termination served as the motive for the brutal murder.
Further interrogation and forensic analysis are ongoing, with police aiming to determine if any other persons were involved.
The arrests mark a major development in the case, and authorities are urging employers to be cautious when handling personnel disputes, particularly with employees residing in proximity.
