WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE) — Two suspects were arrested on May 6 in West Monroe, Louisiana, accused of using stolen and skimmed credit card information to commit fraud since January 2024.

The West Monroe Police Department (WMPD) responded to a call from a local business where two patrons had allegedly used fraudulent credit cards. Upon arriving, officers searched the suspects’ vehicle and found credit card readers and skimmers, a laptop, and a ledger documenting transactions from multiple locations.

Omar Menendes-Mendez and Michel Perez-Menendez were arrested and booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center. They face multiple charges, including monetary instrument abuse, identity theft, violations of the anti-skimming act, and criminal conspiracy.

The investigation into the suspects’ activities is ongoing as law enforcement works to uncover the full scope of their fraudulent activities.
