Two Arrested in Toronto Human Trafficking Investigation

Charges include trafficking, exploitation of minors

by Sophia Bennett

Toronto, ON — Toronto Police Service announced arrests in a significant human trafficking investigation involving a minor victim.

In June 2025, the Human Trafficking Unit launched an investigation after allegations emerged that a 15-year-old female was trafficked through deception, coercion, and control. The accused reportedly managed the victim’s online sexual service ads, including the taking of sexualized photos, and transported her to various hotels to meet clients. The money earned was confiscated by the traffickers.

On July 31, 2025, two suspects were arrested in Toronto and Mississauga:

Marshall Nathaniel O’Connor, 47, Toronto, faces multiple charges including trafficking persons under 18, financial benefit from sexual services, child pornography offenses, sexual exploitation, sex assault, and drug trafficking-related counts.

Eric Carreiro, 39, Mississauga, was charged with trafficking persons under 18, financial benefit offenses, sexual exploitation, child pornography access, sex assault, and related crimes.

Both were scheduled for a court appearance at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre on July 31.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims and urge anyone with information or those affected to come forward. Authorities have released images of the accused to assist the public.
