In a swift and efficient operation, Chimpu Police successfully arrested two individuals involved in a theft incident at Gohpur Tinali, Chimpu, which occurred on 18th February 2025.
The victim, Yajar Cheri, reported that her handbag, containing cash, a gold chain, ATM cards, and a mobile phone, was stolen from her parked scooty. Acting promptly on the complaint, the Chimpu Police launched an investigation and thoroughly analyzed CCTV footage, which provided vital clues that led to the identification of the main suspect, Gollo Tara.
Thanks to the quick actions of the police team, Gollo Tara and his accomplice, Nabam Sakap, were apprehended. The stolen motorcycle used in the crime, along with the handbag and mobile phone, were recovered during the operation. Both suspects confessed to their involvement in the theft, and they have been remanded to judicial custody at the District Jail.
The successful operation was led by Inspector N. Nishant (Officer-in-Charge, Chimpu PS), ASI Manish Kumar (Investigating Officer), HC Jerry Romin, CT D. Ete, and CT Tasso Tasser, under the supervision of Shri Kengo Dirchi, SDPO Itanagar.
Superintendent of Police, Itanagar ICR, Rohit Rajbir Singh, IPS, praised the team for their swift action, which resulted in solving the case within 72 hours. He also encouraged citizens to remain vigilant, take necessary precautions, and promptly report any suspicious activities to help maintain law and order in the community.
