Two Arrested in Major NC Drug Trafficking Investigation

Suspects Face Multiple Charges for Meth, Fentanyl, and More

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – Two individuals have been arrested following a months-long drug trafficking investigation conducted by the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office (NHCSO).

Undercover Operation and Arrests
Authorities say undercover officers seized over 500 grams of methamphetamine from Sawsan Abdel Hussein, a key suspect in the investigation.

On March 19, detectives pulled over Hussein and Tyquan Rasaji Lane in a traffic stop, uncovering additional methamphetamine, fentanyl, and marijuana.

Following the arrests, the NHCSO Vice & Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at Hussein’s residence on North 31st Street, where they discovered cocaine and a firearm.

Charges and Bonds
Sawsan Abdel Hussein’s Charges:
Three counts of trafficking opium/heroin

Eight counts of trafficking methamphetamine

Two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia

Five counts of conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine

Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver (PWIMSD) methamphetamine

PWIMSD Schedule I controlled substances

Bond: $2.5 million

Tyquan Rasaji Lane’s Charges:
10 counts of trafficking methamphetamine

Two counts of conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine

PWIMSD methamphetamine

Two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia

Bond: $2.3 million

Both suspects remain in custody as the investigation continues.
