Two Arrested in Lenoir County for Stolen Vehicle and Drug Charges

Tomas Vega and Desiree Mooring Face Multiple Charges After Arrest

Authorities in Lenoir County, North Carolina, have arrested two individuals, Tomas Vega, 26, of Kinston, and Desiree Mooring, 26, of La Grange, on charges related to a stolen vehicle and drug offenses. Deputies encountered the suspects while responding to an unrelated incident on Rouse’s Path involving a man who was pepper-sprayed.

Upon receiving a tip, deputies located the stolen vehicle and apprehended Vega and Mooring on the 3600 block. Both individuals face charges of larceny and possession of a stolen vehicle. Additionally, Vega, who was found to be a probation absconder with outstanding warrants, faces multiple drug-related felony charges, probation violations, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Current Status:

  • Both suspects are being held without bond under pretrial conditions.
  • The stolen vehicle has been returned to its owner.
